Heiden
Bedwell-Curtis

Dancing with Jodie Leach:

Our very own rugby superstar, Heiden Curtis, is making a graceful move from the rugby pitch to the rehearsal studio for Dancing For Hope. With rugby caps earned for the New Zealand U20's team, Manawatu Turbos, the Mitsubishi Dynaboars, the Hurricanes, the Crusaders, the Maori All Blacks, and notably the Taranaki Bulls, Heiden's rugby career speaks volumes.

Standing at an impressive six feet two inches, this loose forward is poised to bring both grace and joy to his dance alongside Alegria studio owner Jodie Leach. Heiden's teammates have often described him as the ultimate professional, a genuinely good guy, a devoted family man, always putting the team first, selfless, and a BBQ specialist.

Dancing with:

Jodie's love affair with dancing began at the tender age of 8 when she first embraced ballet. Twenty years ago, she discovered the world of Latin dancing, and since then, she has been a guiding light in the Latin dance community. Over the years, Jodie has not only taught and supported Latin dance classes and teams but has also graced the stage with her performances.

In 2022, Jodie took the plunge and co-founded Alegria Latin Dance alongside Yanita Hall. Together, they have had the immense pleasure of spreading the joy of Latin dance to countless Taranaki locals through weekly classes, frequent events, and community performances. Jodie holds a deep belief in the power of dance to nourish the mind, body, and soul, with connection to others being a pivotal element. She is both proud and privileged to be part of the Dancing for Hope event, using dance to bring happiness to people's lives and to raise awareness about mental health in our community.

We're eagerly looking forward to witnessing what Jodie and Heiden will bring to the stage on event night!
